A Kneeling Christian.
“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20) KJV
Christians do pray, but not with enough faith to back up our prayer.
The Word of God and prayer must always be in the right proportion to have a balanced Christian life.
Prayer grasps eternity, and our knowledge of the Son of God, the true God, and an understanding of our being in Him, would assure us of our eternity with Him.
We would equally have the confidence that whatsoever we ask, our desire would not be denied. (see 1 John 5:14-20 KJV)
Let us remind ourselves that to pray.
We must continually confess our sins.
We mean the confession of a believer’s sins.
Be true to yourself before God.
Acknowledge your shortcomings.
Particularly not obeying God completely and totally.
The lost – the unsaved people of the world do not need confession.
First, they need Christ. (1 John 1:19 KJV)
Furthermore, no matter the circumstances of our situation, we must strive to pray in God’s will, even when under tremendous pressure or stress. (Matthew 6:10 KJV; James 4:3 KJV)
We must also exercise faith.
We must not only believe that God can, but that He will.
Faith as we know it believes in what we do not see.
Its reward is seeing that which we believe become a reality.
Let your confidence always be in the Lord.
Concentrate on your God-given vision.
Let your life be a commitment to His course.
Application for the Christian life:
Pray with faith.
Listen to God’s word.
Do the commandments of God.
Be in unity with God and proclaim His mercy.
