Behold thou hast given no seed.

Behold thou hast given no seed.

“After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.” (Genesis 15:1-3) KJV

Have you ever had the feeling that God is not listening to your prayers?

Have you ever have the feeling that God seems to delay?

You know He will do what you have asked, but sometimes it seems that He delays.

In these circumstances, we are tempted to take matters into our own hands.

When we look into Abraham’s life, we can see what mistakes he made.

He assumed that God has not given him an heir.

Don’t take hasty decisions in moments of doubt

Abraham made the mistake of looking for solutions in Egypt.

There will be times in your Christian life when things are so complicated that you will start thinking: ‘Will it be ok if I turn my back on God for just five minutes so that I can work this thing out?’

This is not a pleasant thought! Not at all!

Don’t play the self-pity blame God game.

Abraham saw that at his age he cannot have any child and he was thinking that Eliezer will be his heir.

Don’t quit on  God when things seem to be impossible to solve.

Just trust Him and move on.

Abraham made the mistake of listening to the advice of “others.”

His wife had a ‘brilliant’ idea.

He took Hagar for a wife to help God.

Don’t compromise with your God-given body when you feel low, depressed and forsaken.

Abraham made a mistake to tell only half-truths, to survive.

We should tell the truth at all times.

God will never fail you.

Don’t look at the circumstances of your situation

He will never leave you nor forsake you.
