Dont Do That

Do thyself no harm

” But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.” Acts 16:28 (KJV)

Do not commit suicide is the plain and unambiguous language Paul cried and pleaded passionately to the jailor in our passage above. He was in a situation where humanly speaking all hopes were lost and the conclusion was for him to take his own life.

Be like Paul today to let that person know that no matter the situation suicide is not a way out to any human being regardless of what they face.

Don’t take your own life.

Cultures around the world have different antidotes that tend to justify that an “honorable death” is better is better than “been put to shame”.”

Unfortunately for the modern church of today that are typical to copy Hollywood verbatim in so many aspects has allowed the news of celebrities committing suicide to filter into the church without appropriate condemnation and clarity that suicide is not for any human being and should never never be a consideration for any child of God.

Let every human being that you come across today know that taking their lives by themselves is double jeopardy.

It’s accepting defeat in life and guaranteeing a place in hell.

Jesus came so that every person can have a full life here on earth and eternal life hereafter that is the win-win situation.

Stop the wrong notion that has been on the increase recently especially amongst the younger generation that taking your own life is an option.

There are countless testimonies of people who have reached the rock bottom hopeless situation, but with the right focus on God, their conditions have experienced a complete turnaround to God’s glory.

” Startled from sleep, the jailer saw all the doors swinging loose on their hinges. Assuming that all the prisoners had escaped, he pulled out his sword and was about to do himself in, figuring he was as good as dead anyway when Paul stopped him: “Don’t do that! We’re all still here! Nobody’s run away!” Acts 16:27-28  (MSG)

Don’t do that!
