“Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.” Galatians 6:7-8
Technology has provided us with virtual convergence in the palm of our hands. Great benefits of knowing what is happening around the world in a matter of seconds not even minutes any longer.
With this development has also come challenges to our ability to meditate on the Word of God.
As you are focusing on a revelation you have just received, another fresh insight is coming in through another message platform on your phone. As you ponder on the new one another one comes in. Before you know it you have not really digested the Word.
Equally challenging is the prayer time. As you focus to pray and praise you are fully conscious of the tiny buzz coming in into your phone and then you go “spiritual ” speaking in tongues and opening one eye to look at what’s the message on your phone. Before you know it the prayer praise Time is over as you are busy responding to the message, making your rejoinder on the issue or forwarding it to your group of friends that you believe need it most.
All kinds of entertainment are now available on the phone hence there is really no “dull ” moment again. You can easily search for what is funny or select those hilarious clips earlier sent to you by your circle of friends.
Hence the challenges you now face between actually having time to meditate, praise ,pray and getting your actual work done.
Students are also facing these challenges on the use of their time.
