Just Once it shall all be yours … don’t it’s a lie from the devil

“Then the devil took Him up to a high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the habitable world in a moment of time [ in the twinkling of an eye].  And he said to Him, To You I will give all this power and authority and their glory (all their magnificence, excellence, preeminence, dignity, and grace), for it has been turned over to me, and I give it to whomever I will. Therefore if You will do homage to and worship me [ just once], it shall all be Yours. And Jesus replied to him, get behind Me, Satan! It is written, You shall do homage to and worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.” Luke 4; 5-8
The devil threw the bait to Jesus to try this temptation only once and Jesus will get the quick victory.
How many times and in how many ways has the devil been coming to you with the same old rhetoric of trying this Just once?
You know you should not really do it but he comes with those persuasive words “just this one time, it would not hurt” “ Just taste it once and if you don’t like it” “Let’s just do it once and if you don’t like it I will stop” “Others have tried it and you can just do it once too” It’s endless the way the enemy packages the temptation offer to you disguising the terrible consequences of sin with the phrase just once.
The result of doing it just once the devil’s ways is always in disobedience to God’s ways and has always brought with it an open door to series of bondages.
Today be wise like your Lord and savior Jesus Christ don’t just do it once.
Respond with the Word of God and don’t “Just do it once”.
Completely turn away from that luring seemingly harmless expression of doing it once.
Tell him like Jesus did “Him only you shall serve”
Avoid that deception of trying out what God has clearly told you not to do.
Breaking the law one time seems a harmless temptation but that one time you may be caught and you throw in to total disrepute all that you have labored for all the years.
Don’t just do it once, tell “satan get behind me” and move forward in victory like Jesus did.
