They were written to admonish

They were written to admonish

“  Now these things befell them by way of a figure [as an example and warning to us]; they were written to admonish and fit us for right action by good instruction, we in whose days the ages have reached their climax (their consummation and concluding period).  Therefore let anyone who thinks he stands [who feels sure that he has a steadfast mind and is standing firm], take heed lest he fall [into sin].”  1 Corinthians 10:11-12 (AMPC)

Sometimes people say experience is the best teacher.

Experience is a teacher, but not always the best teacher.

God’s plan for us is to learn from the word of God and overcome temptations so that we can make our life more meaningful and purposeful.

Don’t make the same mistakes the people before you made.

Stop the negative generational pattern that has been occurring in your family line.

Find out your family history.

Line them up with the Word.

Reject those not consistent with the abundance of life you have in Christ Jesus.

Multiply those values entrenched in the Scriptures.

There is “nothing new” in what you are going through in life right now that those circumstances and experiences cannot be related to the Bible. (1 Peter4: 12-16)

Look for a Bible Character that best personifies what you are going through and learn from that life in the Bible.

The Bible verses above is a reminder to you today to diligently search the scripture and let the Holy Spirit teach you what to do in your peculiar situation.

They are examples that provide us with a warning so that we can learn through what they experienced.

God is still at work in your life, therefore, don’t make hasty decisions.

Stay close to the Word and avoid repeating mistakes!!!
