“ Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error, and there he died by the ark of God.” (2 Samuel 6:6-7)KJV
Wednesday night, on the train a homeless man’s overloaded cart was sliding across in the coach moving up and down the passageway almost hitting other train commuters seated, but strangely it did not run anyone. And much more astonishing each time the train stops at a station the cart rolls itself back to the fast asleep homeless man. Puzzling?
As I looked on with other passengers in the train at this display, I remembered the story of the ark of God moving back to base and Uzzah tried to help God.
With the train situation, nobody including me was willing to touch the unattractively fully loaded cart, but it did not require anybody’s help it merely went back.
Uzzah in the Bible tried to help God, but he should not have done that in the flesh, which resulted in his death.
In what circumstances are you trying to help God out? Don’t. You cannot with your flesh intervene on behalf of God.
“ For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” (James 1:20) KJV
Uzzah possibly had forgotten God’s words that the Ark not be touched. When the ox stumbled, he reached out his hand to prevent the Ark from falling. God did not need Uzzah’s help to stabilize the Ark. He is the Almighty God.
Let God be God in all areas of your life.
Again be reminded that “heaven help those who help themselves” is not in the Bible.
Therefore always trust and follow God’s instructions entirely in all areas of your life.
Whatever the challenge you are going through find out from God’s Word the solution.
David later got how to move the ark correctly, and it turned out to be a blessing.
I got out at my stop pondering on the sliding cart on the train.
As we all prepare to get into 2018, let God be God in ALL aspects of your life.
